Canon Hong Kong held a major exhibition at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre at the end of last month. It was mainly a demo of Canon current range imaging products including cameras, video cameras, lenses and printers. There was also on section displaying old and historical Canon cameras and a 3-D cinema showing a short 3-D movie shot with two high resolution Canon video cameras. Canon also took the opportunity to display 2 new prototype “L” lens, the 200mm f/2L IS USM and the 800mm f/5.6L IS USM. Both of these lenses were behind a glass showcase, purely for display only and not available for try out.

The 200mm f/2L IS USM will be a most desirable lens after the discontinuation of the old 200mm f/1.8L IS USM

Birders and sport shooters would love the new 800mm f/5.6 IS USM

This was the first time where users in Hong Kong could try out the new flagship 1Ds Mark III

A vintage Canon range finder film camera makes a strong contrast to the 1Ds Mark III

Great shots Mr. Lim! Wow… the 200mm looks promising. I do love my 200 f/1.8L, so I can imagine the joy of new owners of the 2.0L. I wish I was there with you. Must have been a great show!
And of course, how can there be a Canon show without the Canon God, right?
Happy holidays!

Love the shots, and most shots in other galleries here. I particularly am drawn to the last one, which reminds me of my Canon QL/9 rangefinder (not as old as the one you shot) that’s sitting lonely on a shelf requiring cosmetic attention. Need to buff it up to shine. LOL.
May I ask a “naive” question. I also Love the script font you used below each image. Could you lead me to the name of the font used.
Thanks.
Happy Christmas and Prosperous New Year.

Hi Ton,
Thanks! I am glad you like my work.
The font I used is called “Edwardian Script ITC”
I hope you had a great Christmas and all the best for 2008!
