I did a photo shoot of the new Abruzzo menu of the month for Uno Duo Trio last week. Doing a formal photo shoot of food is of course quite a bit different from shooting the food during dinner as a guest. With the help of proper lighting, the quality is much better than shooting in less than ideal condition under low ambient light with high ISO. I am personally quite happy with this set of photos.
The gears I used were Canon EOS 5D Mark III with mainly Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro and a few shots with Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM. Lighting were provided by 2 flashes, Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT and Canon Speedlite 580EX, both of them housed inside a Phottix Umbrella Lightbox. The flashes were fired with Phottix Odin TTL Flash Trigger.
All photos were shot in RAW. The RAW files were converted with Capture One Pro with further processing in Photoshop CS5 before final output to the web.
