Reverse Wine Dinner Featuring Chablis & Cheese

I went to a rather special wine dinner last month. What attracted me to this wine dinner was the title of the dinner, “Reverse Wine Dinner Featuring Chablis & Cheese”. The synopsis of the invitation email went like this….

Well, I have never had a dinner like this before, plus it was at a restaurant that I wanted to try for a long time, but have not had a chance to go to yet for one reason or another. So I had no hesitation in making a reservation after receiving the email.

The dinner was held at St. George at Hullet House as part of the Cheese Festival at Hullet House. The dinner was jointly organized with Kedington Wines.

It was indeed a fun and entertaining dinner. The wine and cheese makers from France were at dinner and gave talks on the wines and cheeses we had for the night. There were a good variety of Burgundy wines including white and rose Cremant de Bourgogne, Grand Cru, Premiere Cru and regular Chablis. As it was part of the cheese festival, besides a cheese course, all the courses have cheese in them.

I was initially a bit skeptical how it would feel like to have dessert as the first course and finished with entrée. In the end, it actually worked out quite well, and all the courses and went down the palate quite well.

I love the wine and the cheeses for the night and the chef did a good job with matching the food with the wine. A wonderful and satisfying dinner!

All the photos were shot in RAW with Fujifilm X-Pro1 with Fujinon XF14mm F2.8 R and Fujinon XF 35mm f1.4 R. The RAW files were processed with Capture One Pro with further processing in Photoshop CS5 before final output to the web.
